When I first started hunting turkeys, it was mostly in the fall and I had to teach myself EVERYTHING. I had no family or friends that turkey hunted. But I'm a quick learner and I got the knack of it, then I switched to Spring only because up until a year or 2 ago, Maryland only allowed 1 per season or 2 in the Spring if you did not take one in the fall. So I always opted for skipping Fall so I could go for 2 Spring birds. Now we can take 1 in Fall and 2 in Spring, so I may just have to freshen up my Fall hunting skills.

we get two tags period, you either use them both in the fall or both in the spring or one each season. fall like I said before here in my area of upstate ny is hard, they dont make a sound so very hard to roost, will not come in to a call in the fall to save yourlife if you do see them. kinda hope that your sitting in the route that they are gonna travel.

Fall all day in PA. Spring frist two weeks out of the woods by one, then the last two weeks all day. One tag in the fall and you can buy an extra spring tag.

turkey populations are down 15% nation wide and so is hunters in the woods. we are loosing 6,000 acres a day thats 2.2 million a year.

I know the winter we had here in upstate ny last year was the cause of a dry season for alot of hunters last spring, we open may first but due to the warm weather they bread early.
I always get gobbles in the spring call in a bird or not but this past spring not a sound and only saw one hen.

I hope not, It can be cold just before season just enough to keep them from breading until season starts lol. I could never get that lucky.

Some western states allow turkey hunting in the fall using your deer rifle, during season. I have not tried it though eek!
