I am the same way. I do have deer and duck season to hold me over but when that is thru, the 6 weeks between duck season and turkey season seems like an eternity.IP: 71.195.130.70 |

I have been off work since January 17, when I had hip resurfacing (like replacement) surgery. I go back to work in two weeks and then get to tell my boss I'm taking off to go turkey hunting mid April....probably not as much as usual, though.IP: 12.206.217.79 |

Bear I am with you on this one. I am one who also has the itch all year long. It does help that WI has a fall season and I spend a lot of time trying to take one with my bow. This las fall I hunted almost the whole 30 days trying to get my wife her birds. She was able to buy an extra tag so she wanted to shoot 2. It took almost every day that she was off work to get her birds and when she did it happened very quick. The birds came along the pines we were set up on and her eyes got big as sausers. Of course I had to ask her what she saw. Next thing I knew she stuck her shotgun out the window of our blind and proceeded to lay two birds on the ground. Of course she is leting me mount one of the hens for a decoy. I never did get one with my bow but shot a hen with my shotgun on the last day of our fall season. Callem in and shoot straight. Havin' spring-fever in northern Missouri doesn't do much good. It's still snowin' here, got an inch on the ground now and it's still comin' down. Rain forecast for later in the week, maybe that'll get 'em gobblin'.IP: 70.130.143.201 |

We got about a foot of snow Fri into Saturday. After the warmth of earlier in the week I had thought about going out road scouting and listening for gobbles on the weekend. That didn't happen IP: 204.117.78.97 |

I don't bother with the fall season, dang'd birds wont make a pep up here then. But they do become targets of oportunity. I had a flock of 20 hens come out 5 ft from my deer blind last fall, only problem is I am a good boy and it was the day before opening fall turkey season. I had my bow and had pick of the litter, well I guess I did shoot half the flock. Gottem on film. Man what a beutiful sight.[This message has been edited by bear03 (edited March 22, 2007).] [This message has been edited by bear03 (edited March 22, 2007).] IP: 72.92.183.248 |
