Kodiak we don't get a chance to hunt here until the 7th &8 of April. Of course I wo't get to hunt but will be takeing a young lady out for WI first youth hunt. She could have killed one of three jakes that came to where I was setting. A lone gobbler went by about 70 yards to the North but I didn't want to mess with him until we were actual trying to kill him.
Jane and I will get our first chance at the gobblers on the 15th of april out in the Black hills. Then back here on the first part of May. There are a bunch of guys killing them over on The Cross Roads Cabin down in FL and some of the other Southern states.
Hope you have a great season. We still have found memories of the time we spent with you that one day.

Callem in and shooot straight. WI bowhunter

This AM @ about 6, an ol' gobbler started his gobblin' thing on the hillside behind the house (about 300 yds.) and @ 4PM he was still up there, soundin' off. He don't know how much effort it took for me to leave that ol' 870 settin' in the corner. It's 19 days yet 'till MO season, whew !!!!!!!!!!!!

I got one Saturday. I have pasted some links for the pics. I killed him just as it started raining so he is kinda wet from floping around. Of course I had to put my sidekick in the pic with me and he also had to help me clean the tom too(with his toy chainsaw). The bird had a double beard 10" and 6". It had 7/8" spurs (2year old) and weighed about 19lbs. I got at least three more on my place which I will be going back after in a few days.
